En Mashable apareció hace menos de un mes un artículo sobre un servicio online gratuito de conversión de texto a voz llamado ReadTheWords. El servicio permite la conversión a un fichero mp3 de textos almacenados en diferentes formatos (como pdf, word o html) o accesibles vía Web o RSS.
A continuación recojo la conversión del artículo de este blog titulado con la cita de Borges:
Y para que se pueda comparar con el servicio para los textos en inglés, incluyo otro fichero mp3 con parte del texto de la reseña de Mashable, que transcribo a continuación:
"Unfortunately, I don’t see many options for the visually impaired users (for example, simple navigation via hotkeys) which would be logical given what the site is about. Furthermore, the site is experiencing some technical problems, which will probably get much worse if it reaches Digg front page (and it’s in the queue). Still, it’s a nice idea which might get really useful with a little polishing. How they’re going to monetize the site, well, that’s another matter, but I’m guessing that ads which are read to you leave a bigger impact than visual ones, so they might be onto something here."
ReadTheWords también permite la conversión de textos en francés.
